MesseCode

The method behind Exhibitor Success.

MesseCode is built on practice, over many years, in many constellations. We've seen what works. And we've seen what fails expensively.

A system of real decisions made under real pressure.

From that system we built a method: seven levels, scalable with AI support. That's how we make strategic trade fair expertise available to companies that have no in-house exhibition department and no specialist agency for it.

The seven levels

Strategy isn't a linear process. But it is a systematic one.

Seven levels that build on each other and correct one another. What's decided at level 1 feeds back into level 5. What becomes visible at level 6 corrects level 2. That's why the heptagon: equal levels, all connected.

The logic of the diagram

Seven corners, one centre, every connection visible. Strategy means iterating until the system holds.

01
Goals
What exactly should this trade fair achieve?
Primary goal, secondary goals, and what you deliberately don't pursue.
02
Company and market role
From which position are we acting?
Self-image checked against outside perception. Position in the competitive field.
03
Product and service logic
Which offerings support this strategy?
A deliberate selection, not a portfolio showdown.
04
Ideal customers and decision-maker roles
Which companies and which decision-makers?
ICP and IVP. Needs, barriers, expectations.
05
Argumentation architecture
With which robust reasoning?
FAB+T chains per decision-maker role. Not one claim for all.
06
Touchpoint logic at the stand
Through which functional contact points?
Function before form. Exhibits as evidence, not decoration.
07
Visitor Journey
How do the right visitors reach the stand, and what happens afterwards?
The visitor journey is the path a trade fair visitor takes: the phases they go through and the contact points they meet before, during and after the show.

The most expensive mistakes are made before anything is commissioned.

Definitions

Two words everyone uses. We mean them precisely.

Positioning · noun
/pəˈzɪʃənɪŋ/
Sense 1 · fairconcept

Why should the right visitors come to you? And what should they tell others about you when they leave?

Positioning clarifies who you want to be relevant to at this trade fair, what you stand for and which message should stick.

The claim is not the positioning. The claim is only one possible distillation of it.

Before the showWhich perception do you want to create, in whom exactly, with what consequence?
At the showIs that perception produced at the stand, or merely decorated?
After the showAre the right people now doing what you wanted? And do you know it?

Why you, for this audience, at this trade fair?

Strategy · noun
/ˈstratədʒi/
Sense 1 · fairconcept

Where and how does this positioning take effect before, during and after the trade fair?

Before the showInvitation logic, social-media build-up, pre-show campaign, target-customer activation.
At the showStand-concept brief, touchpoints, on-site advertising, team direction, lead logic.
After the showFollow-up sequence, CRM handover, impact measurement.

Strategy orders the touchpoints along the visitor journey: How do the right visitors hear about you? What moves them to your stand? What should happen there? What should they do afterwards?

And after the fair: Do you know whether it worked? And can you measure it?

Stand, communication, invitations, team, lead management and other measures can be handled by different specialists.

We put these disciplines in the right order and bring them together into one shared strategy.

01Why should a visitor come to your stand?
02What do they tell others about you after leaving your stand?
03What do they do next?

Most exhibitors falter at these questions.

"Driven by innovation." "Quality that connects." "Passionate about solutions."

Messages like these greet you at almost every trade fair. They could hang above almost any stand, in almost any industry.

Combined with a beautiful stand, they create attention. Maybe. But hardly a reason to visit this particular stand.

Relevance is created when a visitor recognises: This concerns me. This solves a problem I have. This conversation is worth my time.

A filter, not a pitch

MesseCode isn't for everyone

We don't believe exhibitions are the right tool for every company. And not every exhibitor, organiser or programme lead needs MesseCode. Some markets are better served online. Some budgets are better spent elsewhere. And some companies don't want to have the conversation at all. That's legitimate.

We work with those who want to change it. Who know that "the way we've always done it" isn't a strategy. Who are ready to step up a level before execution and ask the uncomfortable questions.

If that's not you: also fine. There are easier providers. If it is: let's talk.

Right for you if:

  • The exhibition, exhibitor programme or funding logic is strategically relevant, not routine
  • You have influence over direction and decisions
  • You want impact, not just attendance
  • You're ready to question well-worn routines

Not right if:

  • "The way we've always done it" is the consensus, yours or your stakeholders'
  • You're after quick inspiration, not a process of clarification
  • You're looking for a stand builder, a lead-gen vendor or a funding administrator with a strategy veneer
  • If strategy would use up the exhibition budget: take the Playbook and do it yourself
